Ken Anderson – Senior Counsel and Director of Training

With almost 30 years experience in communications as a broadcaster, editor, communications director, media spokesman and consultant, Ken is a seasoned editorial writer, communications strategist, publicist and media relations specialist. On behalf of Delta Media, he provides counsel and training to leaders in the media, cultural, education, government, transportation, security, environmental, health and industrial sectors. Ken’s training clients range from organizations such as the House of Commons, Justice Canada and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service to the Ottawa Citizen and the University of Ottawa. A former broadcast journalist with radio stations and networks in Alberta and Ontario, Ken is responsible for Delta Media's Communicate with Confidence Seminar Series, including customized training in Positive Media Relations, Powerful Presentation Skills, Strategic Communications Planning and Targeted Media Message development. Ken is a graduate of the University of Guelph (Ontario) and serves as an international judge for the International Association of Business Communicators’ Gold Quill Awards.
 

Laszlo Szabo, Senior Trainer

Laszlo has worked in the communications business, on both sides of the microphone, for over twenty-five years. He studied Journalism and Communications at Laval University in Quebec City, before joining the CBC as public affairs reporter in 1975. He also worked as a reporter with the Canadian Press news agency in Montreal. Beginning in 1980, he served two federal Ministers as press attaché and communications advisor and later held several management positions with the Canada Post Corporation, including senior spokesperson and divisional Manager of Communications. Laszlo regularly leads training seminars and workshops with a number of corporate and institutional clients including for Members of Parliament, Justice Canada, the Canadian Police College and Emergency Preparedness Canada. Fluently bilingual, he also acts as media consultant to the Société des relationnistes policiers du Québec (SRPQ).

 
Timothy M. Kane, Chairman and CEO

Tim founded Delta Media following nearly two decades with leading advertisers, advertising and public relations agencies, as well as governments in Canada and abroad. He is recognized as a strategic and creative communications planner who is attuned to public and political environments.

In addition to his responsibilities as chairman and CEO of Delta Media Inc., he was one of the first recipients of the Alumni of Distinction Awards given by St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario and was nominated in 2000 for the Ontario Premier's Award for outstanding contributions to his community and profession.  In 2001, following the Sept 11 terrorist attacks, Tim was co-chair of the Canada Loves New York campaign in Ottawa.  In 2002, he was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to Canada.

Tim has served as chairman of the Americas region board of directors of the Worldcom Public Relations Group Inc and he currently serves as vice-chair of the global board of directors.

In 2007, Tim led the renewal of the National Press Club of Canada, and is currently president of the National Press Club of Canada Foundation.

 
Sheena Pennie, President

Co-founder of Delta Media, Sheena has provided strategic communications counsel on many of Canada 's highest profile issues over the past 26 years, 13 of which were spent with the Federal Government. She has also served as official spokesperson in both French and English on several important files. She was selected by Canada 's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to participate in the first Business Women's Trade Mission to Washington, DC, as a means to promote trade between Canada and the United States. Sheena also led the international media relations program in support of the Global Ban on Landmines Treaty Signing Conference. Sheena sits on the Council of Partners of “Success by Six,” a United Way initiative designed to ensure that early child development is a priority in the Ottawa area.
   

Bernard Gauthier, Managing Partner

A bilingual, creative communicator with proven management and strategic planning skills, backed by a post-graduate degree in communications and a diverse professional background, Bernard Gauthier leads Delta Media’s Strategic Communications Planning workshops and provides executive coaching in presentation skills and media relations to a range of clients. Bernard is also a Sessional Lecturer in Public Relations and Advertising with Carleton University School of Journalism and Communications. He has more than 15 years of corporate communications and marketing experience, including more than five years as a lecturer and workshop leader.
