Timothy M. Kane, Chairman and CEO

Tim founded Delta Media following nearly two decades with leading advertisers, advertising and public relations agencies, as well as governments in Canada and abroad. He is recognized as a strategic and creative communications planner who is attuned to public and political environments.

In addition to his responsibilities as chairman and CEO of Delta Media Inc., Tim has served as chairman of the Americas region board of directors of the Worldcom Public Relations Group Inc and he currently serves as vice-chair of the global board of directors.

He was one of the first recipients of the Alumni of Distinction Awards given by St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario and was nominated in 2000 for the Ontario Premier's Award for outstanding contributions to his community and profession.

In 2001, following the Sept 11 terrorist attacks, Tim was co-chair of the Canada Loves New York campaign in Ottawa. In 2002, he was awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to Canada.

In 2007, Tim led the renewal of the National Press Club of Canada, and is currently president of the National Press Club of Canada Foundation. Also this year, Tim is being honoured as the first inductee to the Algonquin College’s Media Hall of Fame in the public relations category.

Sheena Pennie, President

Co-founder of Delta Media, Sheena has provided strategic communications counsel on many of Canada's highest profile issues over the past 26 years, 13 of which were spent with the Federal Government. She has also served as official spokesperson in both French and English on several important files. She was selected by Canada 's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to participate in the first Business Women's Trade Mission to Washington, DC, as a means to promote trade between Canada and the United States. Sheena also led the international media relations program in support of the Global Ban on Landmines Treaty Signing Conference. Most recently, Sheena earned the praise and commendation of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for her work as Conference Director for the 29th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners. The conference, which was held in Montreal, in September 2007, was attended by 650 delegates from 54 countries.

Bernard Gauthier, M.A., Managing Partner

With more than 22 years of experience in PR, strategic communications planning, crisis communications and advertising, Bernard’s clients include leaders in government, the association sector and health care. As President of the firm’s research subsidiary, Vision Research Inc., he has developed innovative ways for clients to gain valuable insights into their audiences.

Bernard teaches courses in advertising and public relations at the Carleton School of Journalism and Communication, where he is currently completing his PhD. He is a frequent commentator on political image and advertising, having appeared on CTV, CBC Newsworld, Global News, CHUM Television as well as leading radio stations and newspapers across Canada.

Ken Anderson, Senior Counsel and Director of Training

With more than 30 years in communications as a broadcaster, reporter, editor, communications director and consultant, Ken Anderson is a seasoned communications strategist, media relations specialist and public relations practitioner. As Senior Counsel and Director of Training for Delta Media, Ken is responsible for the high-level thinking that goes into many of the firm’s most successful strategic communications and media relations plans. He also leads the development and delivery of the Delta Media's training seminars.

Over his career, Ken has managed communications initiatives ranging from prime ministerial news conferences to internal communications initiatives for clients such as the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, Natural Resources Canada and Parks Canada Agency. He has contributed his marketing savvy to campaigns for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Canada Lands Company CLC Ltd. and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.

Ken is Vice President (Finance) of the Ottawa chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), an international judge for IABC's coveted Gold Quill Awards and a popular guest speaker and writer on topics ranging from employee recognition to ethics.

He is a graduate of the Political Studies program at the University Guelph.

Cristiane Doherty, Senior Consultant

Cristiane has developed and implemented internal and external communications for Delta Media’s health practice, government and association clients. Fluently bilingual, she has sustained international, national and regional media coverage. She has successfully conducted media relations for such clients as: Task Force Two: A Physician Human Resource Strategy for Canada, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, National Search and Rescue Secretariat, Canadian Public Health Association, National Public Service Week, Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program and Industry Canada.

Cristiane is a flexible communications professional with experience in graphic design and print production. She graduated with honours from the Graphic Design program at Algonquin College and was the recipient of the Canadian Printing Industries Bursary. Cristiane is an active member of the Canadian Marketing Association and Health Care Public Relations Association.

Nyree St. Denis, Senior Consultant

Nyree has been at Delta Media for more than six years, contributing her thorough knowledge of strategic communications planning, media relations and marketing.  

She has had proven success in strategic communications planning and media relations on behalf of Delta Media’s many clients, including those in government as well as in the private and not-for-profit sectors.  Clients such as Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the City of Ottawa, the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada, the Canadian Association of Independent Living Centres and Siemens Canada, have all benefited from Nyree’s commitment to helping them achieve their communications goals.

Nyree also assists Delta Media’s clients as an experienced researcher and media analyst providing advice to clients on how to best leverage their media relations activities to advance their communications goals.  Over the years, the Competition Bureau and the Industrial Technologies Office (formerly Technology Partnerships Canada) have turned to her for guidance on how to maximize their media relations efforts.

As one of Delta Media’s senior writers, Nyree also crafts a full range of documents for clients including presentations, reports, articles, media and marketing materials as well as website content.

Nyree is an active member of the Canadian Public Relations Society, is bilingual and graduated with distinction from the Honours Communications Program at the University of Ottawa.

Martin Leroux, Consultant

Martin joined Delta Media in 2006 after a five-year stint as production manager with a major national media monitoring service, where he was responsible for overseeing the collection and distribution of media tapes, transcripts and clippings to a host of private and public sector clients. His in-depth knowledge of the Canadian media landscape and deep-rooted understanding of meeting client expectations led to a smooth transition from a specialized company to a full-service strategic communications and public relations agency.

Complementing his media background, Martin has polished his research and writing skills since joining Delta Media and has developed particular expertise as a media analyst. The Office of the Auditor General, Industry Canada, Canadian Medical Association Holdings, Siemens Canada and Stanton Chase International are but a few of the clients who have benefited from Martin’s ability to successfully execute personalized public relations initiatives, including strategic communications planning, public and media relations and web content development.    

Martin is fully bilingual and has a Diploma in Advertising from La Cité collégiale, in Ottawa.

Geneviève Joly, Consultant

As a Consultant with Delta Media , Geneviève is involved in a wide range of projects where she contributes her communications expertise to advocacy advertising campaigns, media relations planning and execution and research and writing initiatives.

Geneviève has worked on successful media and community relations campaigns for private sector client Waste Management and for several leading healthcare organisations such as the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. A number of senior healthcare reporters locally and nationwide rely on her for accurate and newsworthy information. Geneviève plays an integral role in developing and implementing targeted public relations and advocacy advertising programs from creative concepts to production management for financial sector client MD Financial and not-for-profit associations such as the Canadian Carpet Institute. Fluently bilingual, she is also responsible for all aspects of translation, proofreading and quality control assurance for many of Delta Media’s clients.

Geneviève holds a diploma in Public Relations from La Cité collègiale, in Ottawa.

Shelley Cundell, Research/Account Coordinator

As Research Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, Shelley Cundell provides technical support to Delta Media’s communications, public relations and research clients. Using her extensive experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications, she creates and formats charts, graphs, presentations and other documents.

Shelley's strong organizational and client service skills are also an asset as she coordinates logistics for a number of projects, including focus group testing and other research assignments. With several years of experience in office administration, Shelley also assumes a number of internal administrative duties, including overseeing the company's accounts receivable and IT services.

Shelley is fluently bilingual, holds a degree in Automated Office Management from Herzing College, and has successfully completed the Fundamentals of Market Research course from the Professional Marketing Research Society.

Samantha Scott, Account Coordinator

Samantha Scott is an Account Coordinator at Delta Media where she provides public relations and event planning expertise for a range of clients. In addition to coordinating all of Delta Media’s training programs, Samantha is involved in all aspects of media relations and analysis from developing media materials and lists to pitching stories to media and coordinating data entry for media clippings and summaries. She also participates in strategic communications planning, research and advocacy advertising projects. She was responsible for the development and promotion of Delta Media’s 15th anniversary “$100,000 PR Makeover Competition.” Samantha holds an honours Communications degree with distinction from the University of Ottawa. She is also a board member for the Ottawa Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

Lisa Grenier, Administrative Assistant

Lisa joined the Delta Media team in December of 2003 with over twenty years of experience in the field of administration. She is often our clients’ first contact with our office, whether it is over the phone or in person. She has had proven success with balancing several tasks at any given time. She benefits from an excellent sense of organization and an aptitude for dealing with clients and the public. She is bilingual and has a personal interest for outdoor sports.
