'Round the World Challenge
Client:
'Round the World Challenge Inc.
Challenge:
To raise public awareness of the 'Round the World Challenge through
media coverage in the various cities in order to promote fundraising
for spinal cord injury research and rehabilitation.
Project:
- Prepare a media strategy for the final leg of the Challenge
- Organize media events and provide media relations in six of the
cities visited, including: Sydney (Australia), San Francisco (USA),
Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal
- Organize the final media event on Parliament Hill in Ottawa
- Develop a media relations and event promotions handbook to be used
by local organizers in other cities
- Write and translate of all media materials
Result:
In total, more than 18 million people in Canada, Australia and
the United States heard the Challenge's messages in support of
spinal cord injury research and rehabilitation. More than $1 million
was raised in Canada alone. The seven-month tour ended with an
additional pledge of $100 thousand (US)
