Challenge:
Faced with stiff competition from a range of public and private sector
organizations for new graduates, the Office of the Auditor General
of Canada (OAG) asked Delta Media to review a draft Campus Recruitment
Strategy. One of the principal challenges of the strategy was to
distinguish the OAG from other employers, notably from other Government
of Canada recruiters.
Project:
Recognizing that the Auditor General of Canada recruits social scientists,
environmental engineers, IT and professionals in variety of disciplines
other than accounting and auditing, Delta Media began with a review
of the OAG's strategic plan, staffing goals and past practices. Given
that our project team leader had just completed the development of
a new employee rewards and recognition program for the OAG, the strategy
review was completed in less than a week.
Result:
- In addition to recommendations to update the Careers section of the
OAG Web site and revising the graphics and corporate positioning
statement in display advertisements, Delta Media presented a range
of suggestions, including the development of an "Accountants
in the Schools" program and opening new communications channels through
Members of Parliament.
- Delta Media was then engaged to design, write and produce the print
and multimedia marketing materials required to implement the
Campus Recruitment Strategy.
