Canadian Pharmacists Association Retains Delta Media’s Strategic PR and Research ExpertiseWith over 15 years of experience in the sensitive and complex practice of healthcare public relations, Delta Media has established itself as one of Canada’s leading healthcare PR firms. The Canadian Pharmacists Association’s (CPhA) recently retained Delta Media’s services on a number of important initiatives. Like so many professions, pharmacy in Canada is having to deal with an aging workforce, possible shortages of new entrants to the profession and the need to find ways to ensure internationally trained pharmacists can contribute fully to the profession in this country. The Association is playing a catalytic role in bringing together key stakeholders in Canadian pharmacy to develop a human resource strategy for the future and Delta Media has been retained to develop a comprehensive communications strategy for what has been dubbed the “Moving Forward” initiative and implement the strategy over the next two years. The Moving Forward initiative is an integrated part of a larger, multi-stakeholder process to design the future of the pharmacy profession in Canada and Delta Media was also retained to help develop a communications strategy in support of this larger initiative – the Blueprint for action. Vision Research, our subsidiary market research firm, also contributed to the research that is at the heart of the Moving Forward initiative. Our firm undertook a national survey of pharmacists (owners and managers of community and hospital pharmacies) and pharmacy technicians on the future roles and responsibilities of the two groups.
